WIM VAN LANCKER is a multimedia specialist turned social scientist, holding a bachelor's degree in Multimedia and Communication Technology (University College West-Flanders), a master's degree in Political Sciences (Ghent University) and a PhD in the social sciences. Currently he is working as a Postdoctoral researcher of the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) affiliated with the Herman Deleeck Centre for Social Policy at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. His current research focuses on the social distribution of family policy and ECEC in comparative perspective with particular attention for the redistributive capacity of welfare states, female labour market participation, gender equality and the social investment idea.


He has published nationally and internationally on basic income, poverty, employment issues, social Europe, family policy and the social investment state. Other academic areas of interest are the welfare state sensu lato, basic income, personal responsibility in the context of social policy, federalism, and the European Social Model.
