EVA LEFEVERE graduated as a Bachelor of Medicine (RUCA 1999) and as a Master in Political Sciences (Major (Major public administration and public management, Minor Social and Economic Policy) (KUL, 2003). In 2006 she joined the Heman Deleeck Centre for Social Policy. For the first two years her research focused on the relationship between (the use of) financial services and poverty. Between October 2008 and September 2013 she has been working on a Phd. thesis on socio-economic inequalities in vaccination behaviour (Aspirant Flemish Research Foundation). On May 21st 2014 she successfully defended her PhD entitled 'Explaining social inequalities in health and health behaviour: the case of Human Papillomavirus Vaccination in Flanders (Belgium). Afterwards, as a postdoctoral researcher, she has been working on a project on labour market participation of cancer patients in Belgium and on various projects on non-take-up of social rights. Currently she is only part-time working for the Centre for Social Policy. She mainly works at the Faculty of Business and Economics on a project on Triaging and referring in adjacent emergency and general departments. 


Her research interests are health care, non-take-up and social security, the methodological side of social research and the interface between sociology, medicine, psychology, economy and policy sciences.
